In what was prefect conditions for camogie referee Paul Flanagan (Dublin) got this must anticipated division 1 minor Championship final underway in Kill on Saturday. Denn having beaten Laragh earlier in the competition won the throw in and made the first attack of the game but seen their shot go wide before Niamh Keenaghan pointed at the other end. The game moved up and down the field before Denn won a 45 and Shanise Fitzsimions put it over the black spot to level the game. Laragh won the puck out and Emma Plunkett sent a long ball in to Niamh Keenaghan who got the opening goal of the game for Laragh followed by a point. Denn kept working hard and had 5 wide's in a row before Emma Plunkett, Clodagh Keenaghan and Ashling Cooney pointed for Laragh. Emer Tierney pulled one back for denn with a point from a free before Laragh's Niamh Keenaghan again found the back of the net to close the first half.
Half time score Laragh 2-06 Denn 0-02.
The second half started with Laragh taking up where they left off. Laragh dominated this half but Denn to their credit never gave up and played to the end with their only score of the second half, a goal well taken by Emer Tierney. Laragh gave a well rounded preformance team with Suzanne Cusack and Meghan McKenna very strong in the defence, Clodagh Keenaghan and Emma Plunkett playing well at mid field and Niamh Keenaghan and Ashling Cooney playing well in attack. Denn had Emer Tierney playing well along with Jasmine Brady and Casey Maher and had it not been for their wides total it would have been a different game.
