Club News 3/10/16

posted 3 Oct 2016, 03:36 by Laragh Utd PRO
U6 training continues on Saturday mornings at 10am until 11am. New children always welcome.

Our U8s took last Saturday off as the tournament was on in Stradone. Training resumes this Saturday at 10am. Don't forget the gumsheilds.

Our U10s hosted the Kadona Tournament on Saturday last and it was a great success as always, with Cavan Gaels winning.

Our U13s started their championship on Saturday last when they travelled to Crosskeys to take on Denn. The lads took a while to get going and were down by 5pts at half time. However they put in a great second half and came away with a draw. Full time score Denn 3-16 Laragh 4-13. We now welcome Bailieborough to Duke Park at 3pm on Saturday.

Our u14s played Cuchulainns in their championship semi on Thursday evening last on the 3g. The lads worked hard and played to the end but unfortunately it wasn't our day. Full time score Cuchulainns 4-14 Laragh 2-12. These lads have trained and worked hard all year for the club and for that we thank them. We also thank Ray and his team for all of their time and work with the players.

Senior football
Our seniors played out the last game of the division 3 league on Sunday morning last when they travelled to Shercock. Both side were without key players and Shercock were winners. The lads now start to prepare for the League final in which we play Shercock. When and where to be confirmed.

Our Minor Camogs made the short trip to Kill on Saturday last for the division 1 championship final against Denn. And in what can only be described as a full team performance the girls came home with the cup. Congratulations to Suzanne Cusack our corner back who was awarded the Player of the match. All at Laragh United congratulate the girls and a big thank you to Treena Keeanaghan, Aideen Coyle and Eimear Brady who give their time and put so much effort in to this team. Full time score Laragh 5-14 Denn 1-02. Check out Facebook for the photos.

Minor A Final
All at Laragh United wish our neighbours Knockbride the very best of luck in their historic first ever minor A final. We hope to see the cup as it passes through Laragh on its way to Canningstown on Sunday evening.

Kadona Tournament
The Kadona tournament has been running for a number of years and has always been somewhere to see new talent coming through and this year was no exception. Teams from Lavey, Killygarry, Butlersbridge, Cavan gaels and Cuchulainns arrived to Duke Park on Saturday morning and thankfully the weather was on our side. Having played several games Butlersbridge and Cavan Gaels reached the final. And what an entertaining game this was with Cavan Gaels winning by a point. The club would like to thank all the clubs who came, the referees and all who helped out on the day. We especially thank Padraig and Carmel Rudden for their continued sponsorship of the tournament.

All Ireland Final Tickets
Congratulations to Paul Smith, Shane Walsh and Louise Reilly who won the club tickets for the replay. Another great game.

Well done to our club members Shea Denning and Dillon Brady who played in the exhibition game at half time during the intermediate final on Sunday last in Kingspan Breffni Park.
