Club Notes 24/10/16

U6 training continues on Saturday mornings at 10am until 11am. New children always welcome. 

Training continues on Saturday at 10am until 11.15am in Stradone. Remember your gumsheilds. Updates on training are on facebook and twitter.

Our U10s welcomed Belturbet to Stradone last Saturday. Training continues as normal.

Our u13s played Kingscourt in Stradone on Sunday morning last and in what was a tough but exciting game the lads were ahead by 2 points at half time but put in a super 2nd half and were convincing winners. Full time score Laragh 5-08 Kingscourt 3-06. The boys are now top of the table with one game left which is away to Knockbride on Saturday at 2.30pm. Please support the boys.

Our u15 team headed to Lavey for the Andy Smith tournament on Sunday morning last. We would like to thank Lavey GAA for their wonderful hospitality.
Our u21s have been placed in division 1 for the championship. It will be a knockout competition and we have an a bye to the quarter final. Following round 1 there will be an open draw for the quarter finals. All games will be on the 3G. No dates yet but will be on facebook and twitter. The lads have been playing challenge matches in preparation of the competition. Training continues.

Our seniors go to the 3g this evening for the replay of the Riverfront division 3 league final against Shercock at 8.15pm. All support very welcome. #bring a friend.

Laragh primary school played Ballinagh in the semi final in Stradone on Monday last and results are on Facebook.
Our U16s travel to Crosskeys on Sunday next to play Denn at 12noon in the championship.

Ulster Club
Good luck to Ramor United, Arva and Cornafean as they now go on to represent Cavan at the Ulster club championships on Sunday. Ramor head to the Athletic Grounds, Armagh where they take on Maghery, Sean MacDiarmada at 2.30pm. Arva travel to Healy Park in Omagh to play Pomeroy Plunketts at 12.45pm and Cornafean play Rock St.Patricks of Cookstown, Co.Tyrone at 2.30pm in Kingspan Breffni Park.

Fashion Show
Lavey development are holding a fashion show in The Lavey Inn on the 17th of November. Our very own grounds man Phelim Brady will be modeling on the night!! So why not go along to what will be a great night. For tickets call 0872853271.

Scor na Og
The date for this wonderful evening of talent is fast approaching Friday 11th of November. We will welcome Ramor United. Lavey, Cuchulainns, Cavan Gaels, Killygarry, Drumalee and Castlerahan to Stradone and competition will start at 7.30pm.

Cavan Camogie Board Run
Cavan camogie board  in association with Cavan sports partnership are holding a Halloween fancy-dress fun run on the Monday the 31st of October starting from Kingspan Breffni Park at 1pm. There is a 5km or a 10km run. You can register on line at and the cost is €15 ahead. This promises to be a great family day out with refreshments served and lots of spot prizes so please go along and support.  

Club and Player Pathway
The 13th O’Neill’s Ulster GAA Coaching & Games Development Conference will take place on Saturday 12th November 2016 in the Kilmore Hotel, Cavan.The theme of this year’s conference will be ‘Club & Player Pathway‘ and will focus on the development of the key skills required by coaches to develop their players as they progress along a pathway from Child through to Youth and Adult players. Consideration will be given to age related games, physical, technical, tactical development and health related elements of the performance pathway.The delegate cost of €35 includes lunch and a delegate pack of O’Neills merchandise. Speakers on the day will include Jack O'Connor of Kerry and Eddie Brennan of Kilkenny. More details are on the county boards website.
