Club Notes 12/06/2016

U6s
U6 training continues on Saturday Mornings at 10am until 11am. New children are always welcome. 

U12s
Our U12s played Carnaross in the Peter Farrelly Memorial match on Saturday morning last. Carnaross GFC and the Farrelly family organised this game which was played by Peter's two former clubs. Laragh came away winners and would like to thank all involved.
The boys and their parents then headed to Croke Park where they took the tour. A great day was had by all.
With the summer league starting soon training continues as normal.

U14s
Our u14s welcomed our neighbours Lavey to Stradone on Friday last and in a tight game came out on top. Final score Laragh 1-17 Lavey 3-09. This result now leaves us 2nd on the table with 5 games played.

Minors
Our minors play Ballinagh in the division 2 league semi final while Killygarry will play Annalee Gaels in the other semi. Both game are on Monday the 27th of June at 7.30pm. Venue to be confirmed.

Juniors
Our junior team travelled to Drumgoon on Saturday evening last and in what proved to be a tough game Laragh came home with a 1 point win. Full time score Drungoon 2-07 Laragh 0-14. We now travel to Gowna on Saturday for round 8 of the league at 7pm. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Senior Football
Our seniors had no game last weekend. A provisional fixture of Round 3 of ACFL Laragh V Templeport is in place for Sunday the 26th of June at 2pm in Stradone.

Denn Legends
Our Legends team went to Crosskeys on Saturday evening last to take on Killygarry. And it was our neighbours who got the win. Laragh 0-02 Klliygarry 2-09. This result put us in the shield competition along with Denn, while Killygarry play in the cup competition with Crosserlough. Two more game this Saturday and we will then know who we play on Saturday the 25th of June. Training continues

Cavan Seniors
Good luck to Terry Hyland and his team as they take on Tyrone in the Ulster Championship semi-final. Throw in is at 2pm in Clones on Sunday. Derry play Armagh in the minor which starts at 12 noon.

Tickets
Tickets for Clones are available as always from Kingspan Breffni Park, Supervalu, Centra, online and usual outlets. As with the last game if you buy your ticket early you will save €3 on terrace tickets and €5 on seated tickets.U16s are free except on the Gerry Arthur Reserved seating with prices from €5 to €7 depending when bought. Student and OAP tickets are available with a valid ID.

Lavey Ladies Fun Run
Our neighbours Lavey Ladies are holding their annual fun run on Saturday the 18th of June. Registration is at 5pm, with the run starting at 6.30pm. Entry for Adults €10 and U16s is €5. A donation of the proceeds will go to Cavan Autism Parents Support (CAPS). So get on your running shoes on and support this good cause.

Kellogg's Cul Camps
Its getting to that time of year again and the Cul camp will take place in PJ Duke park from the 8th of August until the 12th. The cost is €55 for the 1st child, €45 for the 2nd child and €40 for the 3rd and subsequent children. You can register on-line or at Kngspan Breffni Park. This has always been a great week  of GAA and this year will be no different.

Pyjama Walk

The juvenile club both Camogie and Football held a sponsored pyjama walk on Sunday last. This proved to be a great success, with over 200 taking part. And the Ice-cream went down wel afterwardsl. Thanks to all who took part, sponsored, donated and helped out on the day. Photos are on facebook page.

Camogie

Our Senior team welcomed Castleblayney Camogie club on Thursday evening last for a challenge match. This was a good tough hard game with Laragh winning. Thanks to all who provided refreshment after. The girls will be having a few more challenges before championship starts in July.

Senior training continues on Wednesday at 7.30pm and Friday at 8.45pm.

Hard luck to our division 1 schools  team who were defeated in the shield final last Tuesday evening on the 3g by Lacken. This was a great game of camogie with many fine young players showing their skills. Full time score Laragh 4-02 Lacken 6-00.

Our division 3 schools team play Ballinagh in the semi final on Wednesday evening at 6pm in Stradone so please come along to support and bring a friend.

Thanks to Cavan Camogie board for a great day of camogie on Sunday last where they organised a blitz day for U9s and U11's on the 3g. While the weather was not good the camogie was great.
