Laragh Utd Club Notes 06/05/2012

posted 7 May 2012, 12:31 by Unknown user
The seniors were out on Saturday evening last away to Shercock. After a good start from the Laragh side Shercock came back fighting, leaving Laragh only a point ahead at half time with a score of 2-03 to Shercock 1-05. The second half was a harder contest and a Colin MC Kenna point left the sides level with 5 minutes to go, however Shercock pressed on taking two more points one from a free, Laraghs faith was sealed however in the last minute of the match with a Shercock goal coming from a great run up the field. The lads were extremely disappointed with the outcome, however lessons have been learnt and with the next game not due to be played until Wednesday 30th May at home to Maghera big efforts will be made in training. Training continues Tuesday and Friday Nights at 8:00pm.

The Juniors were also out on Saturday against Shercock in the reserve league, again the Laragh side opened well with goals coming of Brian Carolan and Gerry Murray leading to a half time score of 2-05 to Shercock’s 1-04. The second half started of well to with Noel Smith opening up to find Laraghs 3rd goal of the game, points were exchanged between both sides, but for the last ten minutes Shercock upped their game and left the Laragh side behind scoring an answered 2-03 in the last five minutes of the game giving a final score of Shercock 3-11 to Laraghs 3-08. The lads however can’t dwell to long on the result and will be hoping to turn things around this Wednesday evening the 9th May when we play Killygarry away at 7:30 pm.

The U16 quarter final of the division 2 league has been changed it will now take place on Wednesday 9th May  where Laragh play St Joseph’s in Arva at 7:00pm referee John Emo. Best of luck lads!
