Laragh Utd Club Notes 13/05/2012

Juniors
The Juniors were also out on Friday evening last away to Killygarry in what turned out to be a convincing win with a final score of 4 14 to 1-08 to the Laragh side. Laragh were in control from the start and made use of all their chances with goals coming from Phil Devine Junior, Conal Donohoe and Adrian Cooney the lads were happy with the result.  With no games next weekend training continues Tuesday and Friday nights at 8 o’clock

U16
The U16s took a great win in Arva on Wednesday evening last when they played St Josephs. Laragh opened on the scoreboard with a point from Connor O Rourke. St Josephs followed with the next score but Laragh took the next four points unanswered. With the scores coming from Connor O Rourke, Jason Rahill and Declan Smith. St Joseph’s then got their second for the half and Connor O Rourke finished with the last score of the half for the Laragh side. Half time score Laragh 0-6 to St Joseph’s 0-2.

Raymond Lackey took the first score of the second half, an on fire Connor O Rourke followed with two more points, and Eoin Cooney then got his name on the scoreboard taking a great point. St Joseph’s however were not beaten yet, scoring 1-02 on the trot. Raymond Lackey took Laraghs next score in a great bit of play. Laragh secured the win when a great ball in by Ryan O Donnell to Jack Mc Kenna ended in the back of the net. St. Josephs ended the game with a point from a 45. To leave a final score of Laragh 1-11 to St Joseph’s 1-05.

The action continues this Thursday the 17th May where a Division 2 Final place is up for grabs which will see Laragh take on St Killians in Crosskeys at 7:00pm referee J. Mc Quillan.

U14
The Laragh U14 have qualified for Feile 2012 the team is raising funds for the trip by getting sponsors  for  a kick-a-ton on Saturday the 2nd June from 2pm to 4pm it will prove to be an exciting and fun event, please support the team and their management on the path to Feile 2012.
The U14 play Bailieboro on Saturday the 19th May at 12 noon venue has yet to be confirmed. Please support the U14 as they strive to maintain their unbeaten record.

Club Fundraiser
A big thank you and well done to all who supported the fundraising Table quiz in the Cross on Friday night last. It proved to be a great night’s entertainment. The Quiz ended in a tie breaker however the team of Sheamus Cooney, Gemma Cullivan, Padraig Cooney and Adam Traynor turned out to be the eventual winners.  The money raised will be put towards supplementing the cost of Gum Shields to players.

Laragh Lotto
Results for 7th May 2012. No Jackpot winner.  €30 winners were the Shields Family, Odhran Smith, Brendan Brady, Teresa Glancey and Aine Rahill. Next week’s Jackpot €8,200 and takes place in Laragh House.
