Laragh Utd Club Notes 15/04/2012

Seniors
The seniors played a tough but fair challenge match on Sunday last against Drumbaragh in Stradone on Sunday last with a final score of 2-14 to 3-15 in favour of the Drumbaragh side. The lads played well but were unlucky not to come away with a result however the Laragh side was missing some of its key players. The seniors are due to play Arva in a double header on Sunday next the 22nd in round 5 of the league. Training continues Tuesday and Friday Nights at 8:00pm.

U16
The U16 were out twice last week on Monday to Knockbride where the lads had a great victory of 3-11 to 2-07 and again on Thursday to Denn in a very exciting and hard hitting game.  The lads played well but Denn edged the victory with a final score of 0-14 to 3-03. The excitement continues this week on Saturday the 21st at 12 noon where the lads are due to take on St Killians, venue has yet to be confirmed.

U14
The U14 were out on Sunday last in a tight round against Drumlane with a final score of 5-03 to 5-04 in favour of the Laragh side. It proved to be a very exciting game with scores coming of Nial Fitzpatrick, Paddy Cahill, and Barry Davis. Paul Smith played a very dominant role in defence with Lee Reilly keeping rule on the goal line. Next game is down for Thursday evening against Cuchulainns. Training continues Tuesday evening at 7:00pm.

U12
The U12 will have played Lavey at the time of publication on Monday evening after having a bye last week and training hard the lads will be pushing hard for a win.

Cavan U21’s
All at Laragh United would like to congratulate the Cavan U21 squad on their outstanding performance last Wednesday night where they retained their title as Ulster U21 champions. The lads are fantastic ambassadors for Cavan football and have done their county proud. We wish them the very best of luck on Saturday next April 21st against Roscommon in the All Ireland Semi Final.

Foundation Coaching Course
There is a foundation coaching course being run on Friday 20th April from 7-10 pm and Saturday 21st from 9am - 3pm approx.  Anyone wishing to be involved in training a team at any level must complete this course.  It is extremely informative and worthwhile, enquiries can be made to Ray Mc Guire Coaching officer on 087 1333796 or Brian Shiels Assistant Secretary on 087 760891.
