Welcome to the Juvenile Section of Laragh GFC

The objective of the Juvenile section of Laragh GFC is to teach players the skills of Gaelic games and to facilitate the exercise of those skills in a competitive and fun way. Our first priority is always the welfare of our young players and we are committed to providing an environment which will allow participants to perform to the best of their ability, free from bullying and intimidation.

We will take all practicable steps to protect them from discernible forms of abuse - from harm, discrimination or degrading treatment and shall respect their rights, wishes and feelings.

We do this by:

• Training courses and briefings are made available to all mentors and coaches so that they are familiar with the GAA's code of behaviour and child protection law like the Children's First act.
• We have completed a risk assessment of the potential for harm to children and documented a Safeguarding Statement which is available on this website and is displayed within the club. We are committed to the implementation of this Child Safeguarding Statement and the procedures contained therein that outline our intentions to keep children safe from harm.
• Our Designated Liaison Person, Sean Kelly, is known to all mentors/coaches and helpers so that any form of child abuse can be quickly reported and dealt with.
• Our Children's Officer, ensures that all coaches/mentors and helpers are Garda vetted and familiar with the GAA's code of behaviour.
